Summer 2015

Dear Friends,

Col 4:8 . . . “Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts.”

This passage reminds us that Paul had folks who worked with him to help others in ministry. As they visited the churches, they sought to learn how the pastor was doing and encourage him in his work.  Over 12 years ago, God called us to help church planters and missionaries. Our mission statement is “To glorify God by helping missionaries and church planers with their spiritual, emotional, physical and financial needs.”

We praise God for all He has done in helping with various ministries around the world. Since we started our church, Calvary Baptist Church of Simpsonville in February 1985, God has given us the privilege to minister in 35 different countries of the world and almost all of the states of the United States. We praise the Lord for His goodness to us.

During this quarter, we have had many different opportunities to help meet the needs of others.  In April, I enjoyed the privilege of conducting a revival for Pastor Mros and the good folks at Hico Baptist Church in Graham, NC. Several people made good decisions and folks were encouraged in the Lord.

Father’s Day week-end provided a great occasion to preach for Pastor Shawn Rinehart at Trinity Baptist Church in Spartanburg. Praise the Lord for the life changing decisions that some people made. We had great fellowship together and the folks were very kind to us.

We have enjoyed a number of opportunities to help Brother Jan Milton with the preliminary development of the property in Simpsonville.  Lord willing, David Livingston Medical Mission Training Center will one day thrive for the glory of God.

God provided funds to dig a well in India in a town that does not have clean water. Also there was no Bible preaching church in that town. Dr. J.D. Moses is working to start a new church there. We praise the Lord that He has provided fresh water to use as well as the Water of Life to meet the needs of the people’s souls.

Bro. Jan Milton of Operation Renewed Hope has asked Cookie and me to go to Nepal to visit the churches, the pastors, and the people who received financial help after the tragic earthquake. When we finish our ministry in Nepal, we plan to travel to Myanmar to assess the needs there after the recent hurricane. Bro. Jan has also asked us to visit an orphanage near Rangoon. Please pray that we will be able to encourage these dear folks and evaluate how we may be able to help them in the future.

  1. Someone has provided a camper for us to use for ministry and for fun!

  1. Opportunities to encourage Christian workers in many different areas.

  1. Preaching God’s Word and seeing folks respond to God dealing in their lives.

  1. Provision of funds for the Nepal/Myanmar trip.

  1. Protection as we travel to areas hostile to the Gospel.

  1. Power of the Holy Spirit that souls would be saved and lives changed.

We are very grateful for your gifts and prayers. Without your help, we could never accomplish the things that God has called us to do.

In His service,

Guy and Cookie Altizer
